Abstract

Rasi is a staple food made from cassava which has been consumed by the Cireundeu Indigenous people since 1918. This study aims to see the division of roles of women and men in the production of rasi food in the Cireundeu traditional village community, whether there is an inequality that occurs in the division of labor. the. This research was conducted by interview method which was conducted in Cireundeu Traditional Village, Leuwigajah Village, South Cimahi District, Cimahi City with 3 traditional leaders as informants. The results showed that the division of labor carried out by the Cireundeu indigenous people in the production of constellation food in the family had an equal division of labor where men and women were equally involved in the process of planting cassava, harvesting cassava and managing which includes stripping, milling, drying, pounding, filtering, to cooking the rasi. The division of production roles is fair and adjusted to the abilities of each gender. The analysis of gender roles is aimed at seeing the diversity that we can see from men and women not only in terms of biology, but also about a gender relationship that is used in a society that is not always the same from one another, from one place to another. one another (Hubeis 2010).
